2020 Gladiator Build #3080 | Built to winter camp in Alaska

I have now realized (6 months into living in Alaska) how much I took for granted how close everything was when living in the midwest. a 6 hour drive and I was in Kentucky on the DBBB. If I did an 11 hour drive I was in the Carolina’s and the Appalachian mountains. Here a 6 hour drive gets me from Fairbanks to Anchorage and an 11 hour drive gets me from Fairbanks to Homer.

The last trip before moving to Alaska was in December of 2022. I was lucky enough to get to Join Ozark Overland Adventures on their fall Patreon weekend. I’m still insanely new to the larger car camping/overlanding scene and am amazed at how different everyones rigs/styles are. I hope to get out with more folks especially in Alaska as people make the trip up to see how they have everything setup!

It’s been a while since I made an update. Pretty much 2 full years. Well Alaska has kept us busy to say the least!

dang i didn’t know you were only in Alaska for 2 years and change. somehow with your trips, photos, and everything it felt like you were there your whole life!
definitely need to return to AK sometime and meet up with ya!

I came up with a mission lol I’m not sure how long I’ll be in Alaska and I don’t want to look back and wish I’d done more so I try and get out and explore as much as humanly and financially possible because I could leave the state next month if things work out that way.

wow that’s really great for you tbh.
at least you’re not stuck in one place and have all the flexibility.
