They have been teasing the cap on their instagram story’s quite a bit.

Yes, and I thought they were supposed to release them last week but for some reason they got pushed back.

Very interested in putting the cap on my F150

Yea it is between alucab, smartcap, RLD, and GFC. I personally like the one piece design of the Alucab and GFC but they are both not out yet for our full size trucks. Alucabs canopy for full size is also supposed to be released in October 2022.

I see that you already have a camper version, is there any reason you are interested in the cap only now?

It’d allow me to use superlite on wifes car if needed and it’d remove most wind noise from everyday driving.

So I guess even with the rhino rack wind fairing it still creates a good amount of noise?

I personally have close to no wind noise on my ZR2

I’m the same, no real wind noise that I didn’t have before with Yakima bars on the truck. Actually it’s quieter.

There is also some discussion about it here: TELL US! GFC Camper Shell!? - #75 by TPSJ

Thank you so much! Seem like they already have this cap/shell out years ago?

That was the prototype used for testing if I recall

assuming the actual cap/shell is going to be very close to the prototype?

now i see what was meant about the t-slots… on the side. that is a very nice feature. Great for an awning i presume.

thanks for this thread. great stuff.

This is my truck I product tested the shell for a year. It’ll be worth the wait trust me!

You have to be very careful of the alignment. I carried two sea kayaks up there, on one trip, and it whacked my alignment out even though I was under the stated weight limit by GFC. Now I need to push or pull on one side or the other while closing the cap.

Wonder if there is a chance it would have a removable top section on that canopy/topper…

It doesn’t have a removable top
