Totally dude. I actually installed the victron Bluetooth battery monitoring thingie so I know the voltage in, voltage out, temperature, all that stuff! Sooo worth it to know exactly what’s going on with the electrical system!
Awesome!
I also use the CHEEP thermometer during the summer in the bed area just to make sure my Refrigerator and anything else is not going to be damaged.
This summer it got over 130°c.
Right not the outside temp in the sun is 86° and the temp in the bed is 102°.
Damn man. What’s your location/panel color? I’m in sunny central CO with grey panels. I have a fridge in the back of mine, and the highest I remember my thermometer reading all summer was 105.
Nashville TN. Gray panels
Summer it gets Hot and Humid.
Right now it is 91° outside and with the back opened 101 in the bed.
As far as cold weather for several week we hover in the teens. Last year we had a week near zero and a couple days at -8°. This is when I set up the GFC and tested the heater.
Summers are near 100° and quite humid. The tent when closed get super hot.
I ordered the ceiling pad but my concern is using Velcro to hold it up. It gets so hot the glue melts and off comes the Velcro.
Text or email me and we can talk.

One more thing.
I couldn’t sleep after you mentioning about keeping water from freezing.
So I changed how my duct goes to the top and added a “Y” coupling that has damper flaps. That way I can decide how much heat I want in the bed of the truck.
This is just my thoughts.
If you are interested I can give links to the parts.

Oops!
Went back and read the temperature in the post I did.
Finger slip not 130° it was 120°.
Outside temp at that time was over 100°.
I have to use gloves to open the tent and side panels.
Yes please post the links to those parts! I’ll shoot you a text to get more details. I love that setup.
I originally planned to do a similar “Y” connection inside as well, but decided against it because I thought it might be too complicated. My thought was that instead, I would simply use a “Y” connection closer to the heater itself, and outside of the camper. I would run one hose to the tent, under the window flap, and another into the truck through a hole drilled in the Tacoma bed cubby.
You might have changed my mind, however. Your setup looks nice and compact, and also variable from inside the camper - which is a plus.
My wife and I are going to Rendezvous in the Ozarks this Thursday. We will be back home Tuesday.
Going to start doing inventory and getting the container ready to load. I use a small mule trailer.
Check out the following parts.
If you need more information let me know.
Diesel heater coupling. I used a vent for a sail boat but earlier in this post JJFColo posted a different coupler. Check it out. I like it better.
