Deep dive on improved mattress options

Yep! I tried it 3 ways. Mattress at the front, at the rear, and in between. All 3 still left a gap between the rubber seals, unfortunately. I could see the orange tent material with the tent closed and latched shut. I’m not complaining, just letting people know.

It could be because it’s a brand new mattress, not sure.

Just the Hest, no bedding.

You wanna DM me pics on FB?

Sure I can! It’s raining today so I don’t want to mess around with the tent but this weekend I’ll take some pics to show you.

I’ll take some pics and maybe a video showing my closure. Considering how these are handbuilt, and vary between vehicle makes/models, it’s possible the slight variances are at play here.

Mine closes just fine on my Tacoma

Ok. So after sleeping on that 3” memory foam for a year, I feel like I had found a good solution for the original gfc pad. However, I was so intrigued by the new TurboNap mattress from GFC that I bit the bullet when the upgrade packages came out for the V1. At the time, I thought it a bit spendy, given how much I spent on my DIY upgrade but I am soo stoked I did. The 3” mattress from @GFC is evidence that they are listening to the criticisms and actively looking for solutions. The foam they sourced is so much more pliable and reactive to movement. The memory foam I was using took time to return to its original form after moving off it. OH! And the new covers that come with the mattress sections are awesome! The same durable ply on the underside and the top is way more comfortable and smoother so not as loud as your moving around up there.
