Nothing too special. Night 4.
#7 I just want to point out that I did not just take the kayaks for a walk. They were actually used this time…
Night 21: Santa Fe National Forest, Gallina, New Mexico. Back to the same area as last trip but I got the spot I wanted.
Night 22: Santa Fe National Forest, Gallina, New Mexico. Same spot as the previous night so here’s a picture of my wife soft-roading her JLU for the first time.
Spent a couple nights and rode bikes in ID/MT at Jay P’s Gravel Pursuit.
#10 - Island Park, ID at Big Springs Warming Hut the day before the big “race”.
#11 - Camping spot was the same, so here’s a photo of my singlespeed shred sled that carried me 112 miles to 1st place in the singlespeed category (I was the only one dumb enough to ride a singlespeed and there is no singlespeed category).
I saw signs about the bike race by Big Springs and wondered what it was. Looks like a good time, I’d love to do that next year.
It is a good time, especially if you like to suffer! Kidding aside, this was the 6th year and my 6th year riding it and it’s always fun to reunite with the original group that rode the first one back in 2015. There are shorter distances for those who want more time to hang out and a cook off, games, and drinks to end the evening. Always a great time!
Currently on a ~10 day climbing/hiking trip. We’ll see how good I am about puddin’ pics.
Somewhere outside Mammoth Lakes:
Spot looks sick!
Been a bit behind in dropping photos. It’s been a busy summer.
Spent 2 nights in Tigerton WI. Back in mid July.
Camped right on the Embarrass river.
And spent 3 night camping and exploring in the lower part of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula a few weeks later.
Camped right on Lake Superior. Weather was beautiful and the bugs were not horrible at all.
