Send cut send - that’s the move!! I really enjoy their partnership with Mike Stanceworks, so would be eager to have a legit reason to use them. Thanks for the heads up ![]()
Update: looks like mounting holes might be closer to .5” diameter, not .385” - if anyone is willing to double-check my work, I would much appreciate it!
I overlayed that drawing in my CAD software and based on the other dimensions the hole size listed is correct at .385 inches. The slots are .33 inches wide. the .75 listed is the hole spacing center to center.
For the t-nut mounting holes I usually do .55” to clear the flange of the thicker 1/4-20 tnuts, and if you are running .12 or thicker stock you will have enough thickness not to hit the camper extrusion when you tighten them up.
Edit: I read the rest of the post and see you didn’t need most of the above info.
Thanks so much @jedgar - this is especially helpful since not only do I not have CAD, I don’t know how to use it. So far, SCS is user friendly.
this is the extent of my engineering knowledge
The center to center of your .5” holes should be .875” apart. to span 2 of the tracks or 1.75 to span all 3 tracks. Does that make sense?
Here are the t-track dimensions you need. The ones listed as .38 are actually .375 my software just rounded the dimension for some reason.
so, now I have a total of 5.5” width, 2.82” height, 4.5” hole width with .5” diameter and 1.75” bolt hole height in order to span 3 slots
Just to be devil’s advocate here, but does the plate need to span entire distance of the bracket? Could you instead just cut 4 smaller pieces with 2 holes each that match up to the actual mounting surface of the brackets?
I’m no engineer, but I’d rather have one solid spacer if I’m going to be hanging an awning off of this because it seems more rigid.
okay so this image is actually kind of confusing based on my V2 PRO. The mounts I have span two track slots as shown here:
Here is the final SCS diagram if anyone needs it. I will report back once I actually have it installed.
So, the .5" holes should be spaced .875" apart to fit over 2 tracks, or 1.75" to cover all 3 tracks. Does that sound right?
Hi @BoltJam - sorry, I just saw this. Thanks to the guidance of @jedgar, I think that’s correct. I opted for the two-track solution considering I have the universal mounts already. My SendCutSend order should arrive this Thursday
UPDATE: I just received the spacers and they appear to line up about perfectly (or well enough for the application).
The quality is nice and the team at SCS was incredibly helpful. Here is my order detail in case this is useful for anyone else in the future (I ordered QTY 2):
Quick update on this: neither the OVS 4.5’ nor the ARB 1250 awning work for me and my V2 PRO (even with the spacers).
ARB claims 4’ width but the actual t-track measures out to be just over 50”. So, after all that, I’m ditching the rear awning idea and going with a 270 deg from OVS… Gotta say I am bummed but won’t complain at having so much extra shade.
EDIT: for those still looking: CVT no longer makes the 48” unfortunately. ROAM Adventure currently makes one but, like all their other products, it is very expensive. I used a 15% off OVS on top of an ongoing sale and got 270 deg for same price as a 90. Plus, OVS was very, very nice to deal with FWIW. Cheers!
The Openroad 270 awning is a high quality very strong awning also. Much less $ than most others. Also mounts very easy with the GFC Universal mounts. check that one out too.
Thanks - it looks nice but I got my OVS HD Nomad 270 for $297 whereas the Openroad is $700 minimum.
