Right on! Thanks man I really appreciate that!
No damage to the Gfc, I didn’t even realize it was such an impact until the next morning when I noticed the drip rail was gone.
Airing out after a night of storms. And our current bed layout as we wait for the pack rack sleeping platform, Iceco fridge, and ecoflow solar panels to arrive. These will accompany our Ecoflow River 2 Pro that we tuck away in the lower shelf of the packable cabinet.
I’m also waiting for a Pack Rack platform. Haven’t heard anything about shipping though. Hoping it ships soon, was supposed to have it months ago. Slightly tempted to cancel my pledge on Kickstarter and get my money back if it doesn’t come soon.
I’m in the same boat, placed my kickstarter order months ago. Would love to get it so I can finish out my modular build layout. The word on the street is that they should be shipping by the end of this month. I’m also hoping that the platforms aren’t a rattling piece of crap. Nothing worse than tossing and turning on a bed frame that’s noisy. We hope to use ours to allow for Plano bin storage underneath, while acting as a couch during the day and a 1 person sleeping platform at night.
Finally got around to installing a Maxx air fan. Scary cutting such a large hole in the roof. What a difference in temperature and internal humidity.
wow where is that camp spot!?
Another 8 days in the dust. A little different than most camping trips but the GFC after a few desert modifications is the perfect hideaway.
@depthofperception Looks like a led whip. Some places require them for visibility/safety typically in dunes or similar places where vehicles can be hidden.
Thank you @ABernabe. Do you have any recommendations for mounts to the GFC? Probably something that has an adjustable angle when the GFC is open?
We call them buggy whips up here. Mine started life as a 12’ industrial buggy whip. The 12’ would be way overkill for the dunes, more for when driving around with 797 haul trucks! A 6’ or 8’ would be all you would need. They have a quick connect bracket similar to an air line chuck. Since I mainly use it when the top is open so the bracket is angled to account for that.
As for the LEDs, there was nothing available with all the cool effects I was looking for. I bought a 12v LED strip off Amazon and used clear shrink wrap to attach it to the whip.
That’s awesome. Looks great. I have a desert trip at the beginning of October and am looking to do something special to illuminate the experience on the playa. What are you using for your mount when the tent is open? It’s hard to tell from the photos but it looks like you took the GFC mount and tilted it?
The mount is from the same company as the whip. I purchased it at a local safety supply place and cannot remember the company name.
You can see it in the picture. I just used two GFC t-nuts, one in each track. The bracket can be rotated in the tracks to angle the bracket as required for the whip to be vertical when the GFC is open.
Thank you! This gives me some ideas. I appreciate it.
