While I believe the stated limit is 75 lbs, the installer (who was great, by the way) mentioned that it is probably closer to 50 lbs for it to raise and lower optimally.
This means that after adding a solar setup and three beef bars, the system is basically maxed out.
Anyone else running into this issue? Currently, I am using a truck bed cargo organizer to keep the tent open:(
It also raises the question of why we would even have the beef bars in in the first place.
Super disappointed in this limitation, had I known, I might have stuck with my original V2.
I would ask GFC support if it could take a higher rate strut or if you’re limited by the actual roof/hinge strength.
I remember multiple people upgrading their tent struts a few years back. There was one guy that even added an external set.

I asked support, they don’t recommend higher rated strut, however the same was true for the v2.
I ended up adding them to my V2 without issue. If I remember correctly, went from 100 → 150 lb struts.
The max has 200 lb struts, so a bit concerned going any higher i.e. issues with the pins shearing, bending the extrusion rails, etc.
GFC is working on an external strut kit, we will see what they come out with.
Ultimately, I am super disappointed they engineered it this way… IMHO they severely screwed up this part of the design!
