Velcro to panel adhesion issues

This seems so trivial but has been mildly frustrating. What are folks using to stick things to your GFC panels that have held up over time? I have a very simple and light weight and removable back window curtain/panel made of insulated bubble wrap. It is attached with sticky sided Velcro. I have tried 3 different types of sticky sided Velcro over the past year or so and they all fail at the glue/sticky adhesion to the panel. I cleaned the panel with alcohol prior to adhesion as well. There has to be a better way that is simi permanent but does not involve actually clueing the Velcro down and still allows the curtain to be easily removable. any help is appreciated.

I use 3M Velcro to hold my Reflectix screen in place. Has held up for over a year now.

thanks @yetiX This is exactly my set up. Ill try the 3M branded ones and see if that is the ticket.

3M VHB worked for me.

also instead of using velcros (which introduce tearing force when removed), maybe try use some neodymium magnets so you can just slide the magnet off to remove the cover.

I used neodymium magnets stuck to the shock mounts to run a string above the window and hung a curtain on that. Easy to pop off but not blackout and no insulation. I have improved it since then but it lasted a couple years.

Thanks for the input folks. I ordered some 3M branded velcro already so will give that a shot and if not the VBA tape and magnet idea will be next. Such a simple annoyance…..

3M Dual Lock and VELCRO™ work great and have lasted for years with no issues.

We’d recommend buying actual VELCRO™ versus the other hook and loop brands. There is also two types of adhesives VELCRO™ comes in - Rubber and Acrylic. Acrylic holds up to a higher heat and does better with moisture, that is the adhesive we use.
