It is not de-badged, maybe just hard to see. (Assuming you’re referring to the GFC stickers)
It’s been a big couple of days. First, I was finally able to upgrade to the Pro tent. I took my truck to Basil’s Garage and had them do the job. Basil has a very, very nice garage and there were plenty of cool trucks to drool over. He also has a really friendly shop doggo.
And with the Pro tent installed
Unfortunately, Basil’s had to remove my LED lights in the tent for the Pro install, so today I installed my fourth set of LED lights. This time I got a little higher quality lights. Let’s hope I don’t need a 5th set
I also brought a Devos Outdoor LightRanger 2000. I found a perfect spot on my Molle panel to store it using Voille straps:
And one last major upgrade, I took advantage of Hest’s Black Friday sale and got their Platform 50 mattress. It was very easy to swap everything over although I wish Hest would have run their zippers around two sides as it was a bit of a bear getting the platforms into the square mattress pieces. But man is this thing comfortable! Can’t wait to sleep on it in a couple of weeks!
Unfortunately, there is no way in hell you can close the tent with the Pro tent, Hest mattress, and the headliner. Even with the two square mattresses turned upside down, I could not close the tent. So I have unfortunately removed the headliner. I removed most of the Velcro too (after I took the picture above). Oh well. I have a camping and hunting trip coming up so we’ll see how comfortable the Hest mattress is…
What LED lights are you using around the upstairs perimeter? With 4 sets, I’m sure you have some likes and dislikes about each. VHB tape mounted?
I got these lights on Amazon. LINK I like the RGB lights since the colors can change to basically anything you want. These allegedly use 3M adhesive so we’ll see how well they stick. One thing I really like about these is that rather than 16’ these are 20’ so they actually cover three full sides of the tent. Hopefully they’ll last a while.
I love my hest. I think it’s one of the best mods I did for the gfc
I realized my side extrusions are slightly bowing with the Hest and Pro tent, to the point that a little gap opened up and I could see the strut support. I was concerned rain could get in there and make everything wet.
I bought slightly larger seal off Amazon and replaced the old seal. It was a real pain in the ass getting the old adhesive off, but I took my time and did it right. It is definitely sealed up now.
Since I had to remove my headliner when I upgraded to the Pro tent and Hest mattress, I needed somewhere to put all my patches. (The Colorado’s headliner doesn’t hold patches very well.) A few nights ago it hit me: put white Velcro on the underside of the long moveable panel and stick them there.
Hookandloop.com lets you order just hook or loop, in black or white, and they’ll even cut it to length for you. So I had them make up a bunch of 24" loop strips. I cleaned the bottom of the panel with alcohol, let it dry, and then stuck the loop strips in place. I only went about 2/3 of the way because the rest is blocked by the attic.

I like that a lot!
It’s one of my favorites!
This past weekend was Bunny Camp 2026. We went out into the high desert near Inyokern, California. The weather was just about perfect, high 60s to low 70s during the days and low 40s at night. Had a little wind during the day, but almost none at night. I was incredibly comfortable under my two @AERONAUT quilts. These were my first nights on the @HEST mattress and it was everything I hoped and more. I got two great nights of sleep!
Unfortunately, the jackrabbits were very sparse and no coyotes wanted to play. Our group of 6 ended up with 3 jackrabbits. That said, we had a great time camping and the laughter around the campfire was soooooo needed. My battery is recharged. Random pictures from the weekend:

The Devos Lightranger 2000 (that long stick thing) is a great camp light. Awesome light production, the battery will easily last a 3-day weekend (mine was at 72% when I plugged it in this morning) and the app works great as a controller.

Every bunny camp needs a bunny right? @kevine001

Gotta start with coffee, right?

Savanna had the watch

Next trip is the hunting club trip the first weekend of March followed by Overland Expo SW…
Coffee is always necessary!
