Hey, I’m Patrick!

My wife, Lindsey, and I have been avid travelers for over a decade; having visited and explored nearly every state in the lower 48 via vintage Toyota RVs, a Bigfoot 5th wheel, our 1984 Toyota Pickup, and more recently an '04 Tacoma.

We spent the first part of our life together with one goal in mind - to be debt free and location independent. In the spring of 2019, we officially ditched the 9-to-5 and launched takethetruck.com as a means to share our knowledge and experience; to help others realize that it doesn’t take a $100k “overland rig” to have an adventure and live a good story.

Now more than 60k people visit our site monthly and find inspiration for their own adventures - and that’s pretty rad!

While attending Overland Expo West in May 2019, we fell in love with the GFC platform - and after @BigMikeOfficial patiently took what, even from our perspective, was an obscene amount of time answering all our questions and letting us and our daughter climb around in the demo units. We were sold - not just on the product, but the people that stood behind it.

We’re super stoked to have the GFC community to share ideas and inspiration with along the way, as we ramble around as a family of 4!
