Looking for a bedding catch for my v2. The VRNCLR is a sweet one but I’m not looking to spend that much $$. Curious if anyone has found any alternatives that they would recommend. Thanks.
don’t feel bad for the price the VRNCLR should make improvements. It sags a ton and nothing keeps the crossing bottom bungees in place when you take items in and out and it comes with some really cheap carabiners.
I fixed those issues on mine.
do you use an alternative catch?
I have the VRNCLR still the basis of its solid. Just need tweaks to be where I think it should be.
Plenty people use just amazon nets that work okay for the price.
I used an amazon netting for awhile, get shorter than you think you need, I purchased some 3/8" shock cord to secure/make it less saggy. Worked ok. I went back to storing bedding in a Plano 56. In the desert SW, I still get too much dust in the back to have the bedding out in the air.
Cheap Harbor Freight canvas tarp and some bungee balls. Cut to size and add some grommets as needed. I find it’s better than a net at keeping things from getting dusty.
We make an option also (Pillow Hammock)
But as others have said above, the Amazon net option can work, and it looks like @globemaster cooked up a great solution too. Many ways to do it, pick what works best for you!
These look nice! Looks like you are all sold out. Do you know when you will be restocked?
All items will be listed as “Sold Out” for the foreseeable future due to custom colors/fitment to prevent a bunch of orders we can’t fill without a crazy lead time. We will be doing semi-monthly order openings to throttle order (for now).
However, the Pillow Hammock is faster to make (compared to the frame bags), so if that is all your interested in then shoot me a message or email (hello@filstrand.com) and we can get you sorted!
