Boat foam for insulation

Has anyone used any of the generic boat foam you can buy off Amazon to adhere to the lower truck panels for a little bit of insulation/sound dampening?

Man I’ve been thinking about doing this a lot. It’d have to help some

I used it for the interior of my camper build and it is awesome. Would be great in the GFC I’d think. The only issue would be when the panels get super hot the adhesive may fail.

Going to give it a try next week. Wonder if there really any benefit for going for a slightly thicker foam?

Probably negligible R value, I’d be concerned going too thick would interfere with closing properly, as my latches get angry if my mtb jersey gets caught when closing

There some 3mm foam adhesive on Amazon. I was thinking this wouldn’t interfere with closing the panel. I guess worse case scenario, I could take my time and cut the foam where the braces are so it won’t obstruct. My only concern is condensation.. Perhaps, a marine grade type Fabric like the headliner would be a better call ?

How tight is your bed sealed?

I’ve slept in my bed “stealth” a couple times and never had any issues with condensation.
Though, due to the gooseneck mechanism of the Rivian tailgate, my bed is not airtight.

Maybe if I was cooking in the bed during inclement weather that may be what tips it over the edge…
