I’m in the market for a quality Damascus knife, but there are so many options out there that it’s hard to know where to start. I want something with great craftsmanship that’s also functional for everyday or outdoor use.
Anyone here have favorites they’d recommend?
Damascus knife is a construction method and not a type of knife. What you intend to use your knife for will determine which knife works best for you. No one knife does everything well. 35 years ago, I spent 6 1/2 months on the AT and carried only a Swiss Army Climber Deluxe folder and never needed anything more. Now I have a GSI RAKAU Knife Set for food prep. I carry a Glock knife in the rig for rough work, where edge retention is secondary, and a Leatherman Wave is always in my pocket. I also have a Morakniv Garberg fixed-blade knife, only because I like having a bushcraft knife around. None of them are Damascus type. What will you be using your knife for?
