Downstairs Ski Rack

I just finished up an internal downstairs ski rack and wanted to share since it’s basically ski season and it seems like there’s a bunch of folks looking for solutions.

The rack was fairly straight forward to build. I picked up a couple of L tracks and mounting bolts from mytee. I cut down a 3/4" pipe and mounted a yakima ski rack that I found at the used gear store. The total cost was less than $100.

This was the first iteration - so we’ll see how it performs in the wild.
Let’s see your solutions!

Nice!

Looks great. I’ve thought about doing this for my snowboards as they fit, but the wifes skis dont! My biggest regret about a 5 ft bed.

I’m also trying to figure out a good solution for my boards. This looks cool! However, do you have to climb into the bed to pop the ski racks open to get the boards out?

Brilliant!

Nope, it’s pretty easy to unload from the side panel. Loading isn’t bad either but could be improved. Modifying the rack to prevent it from opening more than 90° might help.

So far I’m happy with it.

Where did you get the L track and is it mounted to the well-nuts?

Here’s where I found the l track and hardware:

The track is mounted to the well nuts. I had to drill new holes in the track since they didn’t line up with the camper wells. I used a 4ft track for the bottom which fit perfectly. I used a 6ft track for the top but I had to cut it down a bit.

Awesome thank you.
