External Panel Care

Hey all, looking for some advice on how to care for the external sides of the panels. They got scratched up from overlanding earlier this spring and tried ScratchX to remove which worked. However, I have wax residue that is a pain to get rid of. I tried Chemical Guys Trim Clean Wax and Oil Remover. Didn’t work.

I think you may be out of luck, aside from having the panels recoated. Scratch x is a cutting product meant to hide said scratches in the clear coat of your paint. The panels do not have a clear coating. Someone else may have more knowledge and can provide better input but I think you’re going to have to re finish them.

This might sounds crazy but try a white eraser. I haven’t used it on a GFC panel but messed up some black plastic trim on my wifes car using polish. Dang eraser actually removed it based on peoples feedback online. If not, then you can just use this to cover it but it will show up again after every wash.

Yeah, it’s night and day. I didn’t think of the eraser and it’s such a simple solution. Thanks again!
