We’re selling our GFC V1 (#296) camper that came off our 2011 Tacoma (5’) short bed. It’s got a lot more life in it but needs a little touch up here and there. Had to take the camper off recently to fix truck frame and realized we have not used the camper as much as we want and with our growing family we have also outgrown the camper. It has the one rear door and two small side windows.

- Topper Tent (rolls down over open tailgate and allows someone to sleep in bed of short bed. Covers it up and keeps you dry. Pretty cool kickstarter buy)
CONS
- Front camper bar doesn’t look great. I sanded it down and repainted it a while back. It should be taken off and sanded down completely and re painted
- Misjudged height with the camper and it knocked the roof bar off. Little damage to the side rails of the camper and little damage to the camper roof. Just aesthetic.
- Main camper frame has surface rust in different areas. It should also be sanded down and repainted.
- Third brake light wiring broke. You can purchase replacement for cheap off GFC or rewire yourself. The light is fine. The wiring broke.
- The rear bar that has the J Edar locks, has a lock on the passenger side but the driver side is missing a piece. Still trying to figure out the piece that’s missing. This bar also could be sanded down and repainted or buy a replacement thru GFC
- the v1 panels all failed and were replaced by me early on when GFC didn’t have any partner shops to do this work. All panels work perfect but there’s a little water intrusion here and there. I would suggest putting some silicone inside the panels near the rivets and other areas that could allow water to enter.
- CVT awning is glued to a metal bar that is mounted to GFC. One end of the awning moved with the wind and the glued part came apart from the CVT mounting bar. If used you can used a c clamp to hold the awning to the bar. Not sure why it was glued to this bar and not actually mounted.
- Rear panel tailgate flap is being held on with gorilla tape. The original GFC flap had metal that clamped on and it just rusts out and falls off. The tape works better.
If purchased, I suggest buying new bulb seal from GFC for the bed rails. The one I have is 5 years old and probably won’t stick to someone else’s
