I made a foot hold for my wife to help her get upstairs. She was always afraid she was going to step on the wrong place and damage something. It does feel much better on my bare foot too. The Pad is for a vw brake pedal.

Sorry no link. I made it myself. The first one weighed 14 lbs. Actually it was cardboard
