Hey everyone! Long time, no see!
I am currently back in the market for a camper. My choices are the V2 Max, and a FWC Project M.
Since I previously had a GFC, I already know what having one would be like, except the max would work better for me bed wise. But does anyone else here have/had experience with a Project M? If so, what are you thoughts when it compares to the GFC?

Nat is back!!! good to see.
Not exactly your question but hopefully this info helps. For comparison I have a V2PRO on an F150 short bed and my uncle has a FWC slide in on a Tacoma with the longer bed and shorted rear seat. The project M is lighter and more bare bones than his and utilizes the tail gate and horizontal back window vs the vertical door. Other that that I believe the demetons and set up are the same. I have not slept in his so take that for what its worth but I spent a lot of time in it before deciding on the GFC.
The FWC feel like a massively larger space based on how the shell sits over the bed rails and the full pop up vs the wedge. Up top they can sleep 2 perpendicular to the truck. For me and the tight places I go the narrower profile and speed of set up of the GFC made more sense. Weight is another consideration that may add cost and decrease vehicle performance depending on the vehicle you put it on. For the FWC slide in on the taco he had to put a couple K into to upgrading the suspension, adding bed stiffeners to handle the weight and the bed anchors (because it’s slide in). The biggest draw back of his set up is the toco with the FWC its an absolute dog in the Mtns and at high way speeds. Maybe that will keep you from racking speeding tickets but for me I want the getty up when I want it. The FWC takes a few min longer to set up and take down than the GFC and you have to be inside to pup the panel in the front up. I often pull up to camp, pop the GFC open to air/dry out but don’t climb in until later in the evening so few additional steps to get in and pop the FWC from the inside. Depending on the height of your truck and your height you may also need a stool to reach the external latchets and you have to move around the sides vs just standing on the tail gate and click click boom GFC is set up. Not backed up by any data… but the outer shell on the GFC seems much more resistant to damage from scraping branches on tight trails etc. Generally speaking the FWC is more internal space down stairs and leans more toward the camper side of things while the GFC leans more toward the high speed low drag and rugged side of things. If you are leaning toward the FWC I would take a look at TUNE camper as well. Both companies are located close to each other just outside Denver BTW. Last thing is while for the reasons above I chose the GFC and would do it again 100% (only I would get a Max)I do find my self occasionally thinking a bit more luxury would be nice. Pros and Cons… good luck
