Leaking V2

The GFC has never been completely leak free, but after 4 years things have suddenly changed. Water is coming in from the front somewhere and running down the mattress rails. Soaks the mattress and pours in the truck bed.
The bottom tubes are also filling with water.

All seals still look good. I’m wondering if there could be some kind of drain holes that are clogged?
I don’t know what changed.
Anyone dealt with this?

Mine does the same thing sometimes when driving highways in super hard rain. Same area by the fixed panel. Keep me posted what you learn.

Thats how mine used to be and I learned to live with it, but now it’s leaking bad even with little rain parked.
I’ll post back if I figure it out.

I will add, I’ve had the weather kit install since Feb 2023 by a GFC distributor. Prior to that my cushion (rear right) would get wet, been dry since with no issues until recently when I’ve driven in some hard rain I’ll notice it dripping into my bed from right where the fixed panel ends. I probably should submit a ticket.

Wow, never seen that before! So your lower tube is filling with water? Is it just on one side or both sides?

Both sides, but I think it’s not related to the water in the tent? I don’t see how it could be. It’s weird that they both just started at the same time though. :man_shrugging:

I added the GFC gutters a few months ago. I just took them off and we have rain coming. I’m going to see if that makes any difference. This wasn’t happening before. :man_shrugging: I don’t know.

It’s been pouring rain and everything is back to normal now that the drip guard/gutters are off.

Wherever rain gets in at highway speeds in the v2 I’m guessing the gutters were funneling water in those areas somehow.
I park on a hill so I guess that’s the magic combo to fill your GFC with water. :man_shrugging:

Mine V2 pro just starting doing this and I have had the gutters removed for quite some time. Really need to figure this out as if they fill with water and freeze in the winter months, the aluminum frame will certainly swell out of shape and crack I would think. Any solutions or findings as to where the water is entering?

Still a mystery to me. The drip gutters were definitely exacerbating the problem, but I’ve still had some water in the bottom tubes.

It’s also been the dry season here.

If I can’t figure anything out by winter I’ll probably drill small weep holes in the aluminum end caps.

It collects enough water that freezing could be detrimental to the space frame.

I drained mine and used a clear marine silicone in various areas I thought water maybe able to enter, I will continue to monitor and report back
