oh yeah, the facebook group has some people who really have no business being in the group… in there not to buy a GFC product but to promote other brands (i’m not gonna call them competitors… until I see one of those on a truck catching air in the desert and not fall apart)
at least over here a lot of things are covered already. there are only so many new things under the sun… people just like to chalk it up to low participation… when there was a time when a few of the forum members were posting daily and on the forum all the time.
I second this! I’ve been able to add some much stuff here, simply because of how easy it is to paste or drag and drop infomation/photos. Expedition Forum isnt nearly as easy to use as this platform.
This is a really good point. I remember during Covid and such when the leaderboard was still up and the campers were still in the 400’s. There was a lot more “content” and ideas flying around just because no one had ever built out a gfc before.
When the hinges were exploding this community was very involved, as it was when the v2’s were leaking. Things have smoothed out now so it’s just build pictures and pudding for the most part. Maybe they’re just all out there camping and going fast
if you need a response from GFC directly, reach out to them directly. Forums aren’t the best place for the manufacturer’s response. The whole point of a forum is to put the users in the same space to talk.
This forum has been a great community. I have learned so much from everyone and really enjoyed all of the input. My GFC has taken me on so many adventures I couldn’t possibly name them all. I intend to continue to monitor all of the great resources that everyone shares on here. Love you guys! Yall are the best.
This is spot on. I’m #380s. Back then most people hadn’t even seen a GFC before, let alone had experience in building out or using one! I used to check in daily. Now I wander by a couple times a month, mostly to see the “what have you done to your GFC week” thread. It would be nice if a company dude/dudette, checked in here now and then (I don’t know: do they now?). I’d imagine it would be a pretty big bang for the company buck to have a CS rep spend an hour or two on the forum each week.
I am puzzled that someone would leave the forum because of lack of participation??!! Forums are not meant to occupy anyone’s day. I would like to think that if people are not participating, they are enjoying their GFC or busy with LIFE.
I am fascinated by the creativity of the product owners in this forum. By the adventure of people traveling around the different regions. There are some good people in this forum and some I call friend. This is what draws me back once in a while. To those that leave, as well as, those that stay TAKE GOOD CARE as you rock the trails in your GFC. Peace!
yeap that’s exactly what i meant by “there are only so many new things under the sun”
99.9% of the things got covered already, and most people have figured out/ experimented with ways of doing things and update the results to help each other find the correct way of doing things. these days a lot of questions can be answered with a simple search lol
unless OP and other people complaining want us to start redundant threads on the forums and instead of “what size tire to run” or “what oil to use” we post about “what size nut to use” or “creative ways to pack the tent”
I look forward to receiving the emails with the Forum recent post. At different parts of the year there is an increase or decrease in the amount of post.
I find the forum helpful for new GFC owners and it was very helpful when I first got my GFC. Yes, sometimes the post are redundant and have already been answered in the past but keep in mind that it is new GFC owners that are asking the questions and may not know how to use the forum and what or how to ask a question. It’s still nice to hear questions from new GFC owners. So if you have experience help the newbies!
