I’ve noticed quite a few posts in here about GFC locks getting stuck, not opening properly, or just being difficult to operate.
I recently made a quick video showing how to adjust the locks so they open and close smoothly. Figured I’d share it here in case it helps anyone dealing with the same issue, either now or down the road!
Here’s the video:
Hopefully this saves a few of you some frustration! If you check it out, I’d love to hear your feedback or any additional tips you’ve picked up along the way.
I’m sorry you feel that way. I made this video because I see people on here and in Facebook groups asking how to open their locks all the time, so I figured I’d make a quick video to help others out. Isn’t that part of what these forums are for??? Some things are also just easier to show visually than to explain over text, and this is one of them. Sorry if you don’t find it helpful, but I’m just trying to contribute something useful to the community.
Thanks so much! See, this is how the forum should be! Glad the video helped! Those locks can be so frustrating when they get stuck, so it’s always nice when you can get them working again!
Ben like it does not have a screw (old model?) or like it fell out? I can check later today to see what size it is but if I had to guess it’s probably 1/4 inch but I can check today.
I have a V2 Pro with the new latches, but my latch “arms” just have a hole… There’s no screw or bolt in them to adjust tension. Just curious if they came with them?
Hi @BenP I have an early-ish V2 pro and mine are the same as yours. I was having issues with the locks early on and GFC sent me a set (free of charge) so I believe this was a later design “enhancement” to combat some of the early latch issues.
