Mattress options - TurboNap

Curious what mattresses folks are using in their GFC? I have the V2 Pro Camper with the TurboNap and it doesn’t work for me as a side sleeper. Too firm and leaves my hips hurting bad. Any other recommended options?

A lot of people recommend the Hest mattress system made specifically for the GFC. I love their pillows and would get the mattress except I’m comfortable on my old-school GFC mattress with the OSG 1" memory foam. LINK

I ran the Hest in my old GFC. Super comfortable imo but mattress options are highly individualized.

Hest platform matress. I have about 30 nights of sleep on it. Im one of the guys that hated the stock one. And would blow up a exped every night. I sleep on a temperpedic at home. And i have a history of back problems. 23yrs of construction/broken back. But i can also relate to the hips bottoming out in that stock foam. This hest foam is legit. It feels like memory foam but doesn’t get hard like we have come to know. It stays soft even in single digit temperatures.
Cant recommend enough.
ALSO they give you like 90 days to try it out. If your not satisfied with it they’ll refund your money. Kind of a no brainer there.

Exped Megamat do your homework and check reviews. I’m a side sleeper and the Exped is crazy good. Hest good too but I like the adjustability of Exped.

The Megamat is great, it’s what I use in my ground tent. But it doesn’t work well with the modular floors and it’s one more thing to set up and put away. My OG mattresses with the OSG 1" foam tops is awesome.

I bought the Hest mattress and my camper left 1/4 in gap around the seal in a couple spots. I ended up sending it back. Never got one night on it.

Did you all do something different to make it work? Also, there was nothing else in the camper, only the mattress and their sheet covering.

@Jbrazeal I have a Hest with the headliner and I took the minimal seal that was installed during my water intrusion update off and put a thicker seal (weather stripping) around the edges of the tent.

Thanks, I’ll give that a try!

Thanks for this post. Just picked mine up this past weekend and did a shakedown test for three nights and found the mattress was a little too thin for me. I’m a pretty heavy dude at 2:20 and found that my hips and shoulders were so sore each morning as a side sleeper. When I slept on my back, it wasn’t too bad but most of the time I rolled over on my side and woke up with sore shoulders and hips. Still just not too sure what I’m gonna do. I would like to stay away from adding just a mattress on top of it in order to keep the modularity of the floor. Anyone try something like this: Amazon.com: Tohetsuzp High Density Upholstery Foam Cushion - 4" Thick x 24" x 72", Gel Memory Foam Support Padding for Seat Cushion Replacement, DIY Projects, Sofa Mattress Support : Arts, Crafts & Sewing It’s interesting about the gap because I find that mine with the turbo nap already has a little gap in the middle of the camper when I close it.

I’d checked this out too. Put it in my SP and you save so much space where you could store bedding up top still AND it compresses down to nothing. Super nice with the moving floor.
