Driving up end of April with my husband to pick up our GFC. Any suggestions for places to check out along the way. Specifically climbing and hot spring focused.

Hot spring preferences vary, but Lava Hot Springs, Idaho is right on the way and almost exactly a one day drive from northern NM.
Not sure of your schedule, but the Florida gorge in southern Colorado could be a good diversion if there’s not too much snow.

Climbing, check out Vedauwoo Climbing area. In Wyoming, southwest of Laramie, just off I-80. Tons of great dispersed camping along FSR 700 and it’s offshoot roads.

If you take 285 instead of I-25 from NM through CO you’ll be close to a dozen or so hot springs between Santa Fe and Denver, many of which have camping.
