The aftermarket rack mount kit enables you to use your existing rack system (i.e. Frontrunner, Sherpa, Prinsu, etc) and simply mount the tent directly to these brackets. It adds about 1" of overall stack height to the tent, which means you are still above to maintain a super low profile mount for the GFC RTT.
