Order delays without warning?

I placed an order for a solar tray kit back on the 16th and about a week later I hadn’t received any updates on the order status, so I called the phone number. The person I spoke to over the phone said that the solar trays were on back order but that they had the beef bars and that they could send the beef bars now and the solar tray later. That would work fine for me. So I waited a few more days and I hadn’t received any updates or tracking for the beef bars. I received an email today that says that the beef bars are also now backlogged.
Is anyone else running into unexpected delays on orders they’ve placed online, that seem to be delayed without having received any warning or or being told that they were out of stock? At this point I wish the website would have just said that they were out of stock and not allowed me to place the order or at least, had a warning about the delays. It’s odd that they are allowing you to place orders on the website and then the order can just sit out there for who knows how long. I have a trip coming up and I’m guessing I should consider cancelling the order and also try to fabricate something.
Anyway, maybe this is just a heads up to anyone that might be placing an order for accessories on their site right now. You may not receive your order or any communication for a few weeks.

Same. Ordered the Pro Plus Nut Upgrade kit a week ago and haven’t heard a thing, order is still showing as unfulfilled.

Not a fair comparison, but I placed an order for @jedgar’s new Heater Passthrough two days ago and it arrived today.

I ordered the lock replacements/upgrades about 5 weeks ago and they haven’t yet shipped. I don’t remember any warning that they were delayed in the product listing, so I emailed GFC earlier today. I wonder if they underestimated the number of orders they were gonna get with all the new options? I’m sure I’ll hear from them soon with an answer. Thankfully, I don’t need the locks right now, so it’s not a big deal.

I also ordered the solar tray kit x 2. I didn’t know they were on back order, but expected it to take a while since everything I’ve ordered has. The thing that really bugs me is that they charge your card immediately.

Yes I’ve had 2 orders be delayed longer than acceptable. One of which wasn’t even for v2 upgrades. But let’s give them some grace. They are likely slammed due to v2 upgrade orders.

I placed an order for the Pro headliner upgrade and the new Turbonap. No indication it wasn’t in stock and ready to ship. I have a problem with getting charged for a product that isn’t available at time of purchase. It seems since the Overlanding craze hit the nation in 2020 there’s a common thought process that its ok to take a customer’s money and make them wait for indefinitely for what they have paid for without any accurate timeline of when they could expect their order to be fulfilled. Oftentimes, we have seen this happen in our industry payment for a product that never gets fulfilled. Ex. awning vendor going back to corporate employment and leaving customer’s hanging. Funding products for clueless owners is not ok and should be held accountable for misleading their customers. Am I wrong for getting upset?

Same here. I ordered the locks and Pro Plus Nut Upgrade a few weeks ago with no warning or notice they were not actually available. I was told today via email that the locks are potentially a few weeks out still and they are working to put the nut kits together.

GFC should be upfront about availability.

I ordered (and paid for) a drip rail, let’s see, August 2nd. The page said it was in stock … Just a couple days ago I got an email apologizing for delays in delivering my headliner. Which was odd, since I did not order a headliner… Meanwhile the drip rail product page says “shipping 8/1/2024.” I have to assume they are having some issues, hopefully just temporarily, for one reason or another …

@gneisscamper if you want just the drip rails, try reaching out to JE design (@jedgar) who makes them and see if you can get them direct.

Hey thanks @techoguy . I have about 40 sets of DripRails in stock that ship same day if anyone needs them faster. My tiny business is a lot less busy than the GFC folks, but I do know for sure they are working hard on getting all the orders out.

Thanks techoguy and jedgar. I’ve been procrastinating on following up with this but the drip rails arrived a couple days ago so all good!

I’ve been waiting months for my order. GFC said it was on backorder after I reached out but said it should ship in a week or two. That was over a month ago. I’ll probably cancel it and look for a different solution if it isn’t shipped soon.

I ordered the Pro Plus-Nut Upgrade Kit back in September. I emailed support last month, they said they were having issues with suppliers. Still haven’t had any official updates and the item is still showing being able to be ordered without any kind of warning about being delayed.

But, I noticed on Graeme’s instagram that they were moving into a larger building, so maybe that has to do with it.
