OK Folks … Overland Expo 2026 has been announced at least for everyone but EAST, and I want to know from experienced folks, if I can only travel to one this year (other than EAST, as I live here in VA) which one should I shoot for and why?
Anyone else looking at making a trek to one of these? Photo for attention.
Depending on where they are and the dates, I’m thinking of going to West (because it’s usually near me) or Mountain West since it’ll probably be near where my daughter lives.
I think West is the biggest if you are looking for the most to see, but I’d personally pick the one that is in the area you most want to explore around in and make a longer road trip out of it.
Depends on what you want out of it.
First year I went to West and they had tons of great, hands-on training. Next year I expected the same thing, however they move most of the hands-on training to PNW.
So first year I spent ~$300 and learned a bunch of stuff, including hands on winch training, etc. Second year I learned nothing (classes had moved) and spent about $3,000. Didn’t go last year, training still in PNW and that is pretty far from So Cal.
Yeah man … that’s what I’m thinking as well! I am looking at PNW, which is all the way across the country for me from VA, and I’ve started to use ChatGPT to pick out a route for me … 24 days in June 2026!
I have been to east a few times. tried west and mountain 2 years ago during my 4 month trip to BC and back but they were sold out I might be interested in a road trip west this year for one.
do me a favor and keep this thread going and keep me in the loop I may caravan out there with you.
I do have a trip ip to Maine for a few weeks maybe a month planned in early June but the rest of the year is up the air.
I get about 8 weeks a year off and I usually plan a few work weeks from mid points along the trip and play on the weekends and intermittent weeks.
