Here’s a quick update for the GFC community. All of our GFC Sheet Sets have been repatterned to fit both the GFC Turbo-nap Mattress and the Hest Platform 50 Mattress. If you are still rocking the legacy 2 inch mattress we offer the 1 inch foam mattress topper, VERY COST EFFECTIVE, that will help you get a better nights sleep as well.
We also have Camper Sheet Sets to fit a variety of other mattress styles. Feel free to contact us for more information on these additional products. sales@overlandsoftgoods.com
We’ve been in this game for about four years now and have enjoyed providing quality softgoods to over 4500 GFC customers. Let us know if we can take care of you, too!
i have the legacy V2 mattress topper (no turbo nap) and the sheets.
i have to say OSG topper and sheets played a CRITICAL role during my trip to Alaska and Arctic last summer! Not a night of bad sleep for 50 nights!
Flannel is safe but a little boring. When I had a superlite I bought some baby blue sheets with clouds and airplanes. It looked ridiculous but so does mounting a tent on your car.
“It looked ridiculous but so does mounting a tent on your car”.
This made me laugh so hard…!!! Thanks for the levity
We stay with the fabrics that we know are both super durable and soft to the hand. My dream sheets would prob have multi-colored unicorns on them.
Weird Dream!!!
Wow, I didnt realize the hest was that thick. I think you’d have trouble closing the camper with that. Mine is tight with the turbo nap + new headliner.
Do you think the added compressibility offsets the added thickness? I would like to switch to the Hest but my tent currently has issues closing and sealing properly and I’m worried this would make the situation worse. (My tent does not currently seal with the mattress removed and GFC engineering is hopefully coming up with a solution/fix)
Hest now makes a special mattress to cover the whole sleeping area whereas myself and others only used the hest dually long. It was a tight fit and I did get some minor bowing in the middle. I never experienced water intrusion as a result but I did see some dust, especially the really fine stuff during the summer. It mainly would just collect near the far backside of the camper. For me, the trade off was “ok” though especially since it meant I actually would get better sleep than the stock mattress.
If you have an REI near you, they often have em in stock so you can feel the difference. I can confirm the firmness also does not change in colder temps.
Awesome. Thank you. I just ordered the Hest pillow but I will swing by REI and check out the mattress. I saw that they make one specifically for the GFC so I am very interested. The comfort of the TurboNap was very underwhelming. I would put the comfort of the TurboNap somewhere between a lightweight backpacking mattress and something like a Exped MegaMat.
Unfortunately my V2 pro has bowing in the center which creates a gap in the seal even with the mattress removed and the tent empty so I’m not sure I can make any changes until this is sorted out.
The pillows are awesome. I have 2 of the standards and it’s all I bring. Heck, I even use them inside hotels when traveling sometimes as well.
If you thought the turbo nap was underwhelming, the old V2 mattress would have left you utterly unimpressed LOL! For the folks who had the older v2s, it was a good upgrade without a doubt but I don’t many have been able to compare the turbo vs the hest. I only got the lay on the turbo for about 10 mins but spent over 50+ nights on the Hest. Never woke up sore and I am 195-200lbs.
Hopefully you get that bowing issue fixed and figured out!
