PNW: Southwest Oregon - Who likes hiking?

I’m planning out a trip to SW Oregon, late August, possibly merging with Labor Day weekend.

Some destinations

  1. Rouge River Wilderness area. I do enjoy hiking. If anyone is willing to do a bit of a thru hike, it would make quite an adventure
  2. Various coastal spots, is beach camping a thing in this area?

Anyhow, I thought I’d get this post up to generate interest/ideas!

Sounds great, however I will be in SE Oregon at that time. Possibly anther time! Appreciate you posting and safe travels!

Just a quick update on the trip route.

Below is a rough idea of what is going to be covered in SW Oregon.

The trip start is on Thursday, Aug 29th with a TBD start point in SW Oregon. The town of Illiahe is the first definitive stop, expected on Friday, Aug 30, where hiking will occur. This leg of the trip will end in Brookings or Gold Beach, with Brookings being favored because I’ve heard of the Chetco river legends.
