Post Your Pudding Here (2025)

Managed to finish work earlier in the actual daylight. Now if it only wasn’t socked in all day!

I can’t take this thing anywhere without it getting a ton of attention! So many folks have never seen truck tents before, and the tangerine color definitely makes it pop. I used to have a camper van, and folks were always curious about the build - but my truck setup (AKA, “Atlas”) seems to fascinate people. Pretty fun, and was unexpected. If I’m feeling anti-social, I have to hide up in the tent .

One of my favorite campgrounds, where most spots have a view of the bay:

Why are you leaving Alaska??

I was laid off from the university due to budget cuts and there are not a lot of alternative jobs available in my field. Moving back to family while I hunt for a new position.

It helps with aurora/star gazing. Your eyes don’t get blown out with a white light and it’s still more than bright enough to let you see what’s around the vehicle so you don’t trip.

It’s also less aggressive to those around you when setting up or tearing down camp.

Spent the holiday weekend traveling cross country, mountain biking and hiking in a few national parks. Combining park visits, bike rides and knocking out 30hrs of driving didn’t allow for many photos and had me grateful for how quick the GFC pops open on all the late arrivals.

Camped 3 nights: Palo Duro Canyon, Carlsbad Caverns NP, White Sands NP and hit Hot Springs NP and Guadelupe NP on the way

Truck packed. had a 4th bike in the bed.
