Night 7: Warm Springs Indian Park Campground
First night in the GFC. Ghosting town campin’. (Was so excited I forgot to take one of the tent up and setup)
Night #2 of 2026.
Started my 30 day post retirement trip today. First stop just outside Oklahoma City. Ok state park in a campground called Hog Creek. Just a quick overnight on my way to Florida from Denver. 1st leg.
Congrats! Hope the future holds great adventures for you.
Have a safe trip and enjoy! Can’t wait to follow along.
Nights 10, 11 and 12 on the RimRocker Trail.
Ball Park Campground in Uravan on Hwy 141 was nice, almost all the sites are on the San Miguel River
Interestingly I came across 2 groups of dead cattle, I imagine they were killed in a lightning strike. My dog went up to one of the cows, sniffed it and ran back to the truck. It seemed like he was “Nope, bad juju here, we need to leave…NOW”
Night #3 of 2026 3 May,
stopped in a little place called Brilliant in an RV park. Nothing special. Got a good night’s sleep and headed out.
8 May, Night #4 for 2026
Still shifting things around in the camper trying to get the best, most convenient set up. Take a look. Stopped in Florida a few days and stayed at my sisters place in Boca Raton. Stopped tonight outside Charleston NC. Heading out to Chantilly VA tomorrow. Nice quiet small state Park 6 miles off I95.
10 May Night 5
Found an RV/Campng site on The Dyrt with not much info on it . Got there after hours and there was no host. Drove through looking around and came across someone who worked there. Explained I was just looking for a place to crash for the night, no hookups necessary. He let me pull up in the parking lot right on the lake free of charge. This was in the Catskills of NY 5 mins off of I88.
11 May 26- Night #6
Another state, another friend to visit. Clinton Connecticut. Set up in parking lot sized driveway under the trees. Actually the most rural spot I’ve stayed so far on this trip. Definitely a heater night, very chilly and damp.
I’m originally from Massachusetts, but haven’t lived there other than 2 years since I was 18 and went off to the Army. I always say the same thing whenever I come back to New England, “ Oh my god it’s so green” And I believe New England has the best house architecture in the country. Saw a lot of it here in CT today. Can’t beat Victorian style houses.
spent a couple weeks in Utah, 15 more nights in the gfc, nights 23-38.
night 23- blm on the Oregon side of the OR/ID border Night 24- south of Moab BLM land Nights 25-28 stayed at the same campsite north of Moab on blm for easy access to the trails. Here’s some wheeling shots instead of redundant camp photos. Ran fins n thing, hells revenge, poison spider and steel bender. Truck did awesome only a little damage and a broken bed mount. Night 29- solo again, blm north of Moab had to get a bed mount welded after the three days of hard wheeling, found a secluded spot to chill.Night 30- up in the la Sal mountains, ran the onion creek trail and cooked a steak on open flame.
Night 31-BLM southwest of Blanding, taking the Utah bdr south from Moab to the az border. What an amazing trip. Your truck looks like the Yin to my Yang (I have a black Z71)
