Hey, has anyone else had constant issues with the latches getting stuck!? I’m looking to just replace them if anyone has ideas on a better option, the “upgraded latches” are already on the v2 so not sure where else to look.
I gave mine a good cleaning and a heavy coating of Mclube sailkote dry lubricant, and they are finally working, even in inclement weather. Was driving me crazy before this lube did the trick - also this is the best dry lube I’ve ever used in general, and probably a good choice for other hinges, moving parts, and contact points on GFC and elsewhere on your vehicle.
Reach out to GFC, was able to get a temporary fix in-place while they’re still working on a permanent solution.
3 days of ownership and you can add me to the stuck latches club.
You need to loosen the nut that tightens down the latches
Anyone had an issue with the metal key slot cover getting stuck? I have to use my key as a pry tool to get it open but once open the latch works fine. This is a 1-2 week old V2 pro so there shouldn’t be any contamination in the latches yet. Having other issues with the latches getting stuck closed but this is only happening on one of them
I had the same issue with the drivers side latch not wanting to pop open as well as the metal cover for the key sticking. I just cleaned off the metal cover with rubbing alcohol then sprayed WD40 on a Q-Tip, swiped it over the key cover, then moved the cover back and forth with my key. It seems to have helped that key cover issue out but the latch itself is still sticky. I also have a V2 Pro.
I ended up entering a service ticket as well. They recommended tri-flow (ptfe) lubricant for the key cover and offered to send out a temporary fix for the rest of the stuck latches until a permanent fix in March. I’ll probably give the WD-40 a try to avoid spending money fixing a brand new camper.
