Recommended repair method for small tear in canvas tent

I had a non-locking carabiner attached to the black loop above the zippered back door of the tent and when closing the tent without first removing the carabiner the canvas got a small hole in it. (Only mentioning the details of carabiner so no one else makes that mistake, it seemed safe enough to leave hanging).

Any advice on the best method to repair the small hole and prevent it from getting larger?

Gear aid patches ?? That’s what I’ve used

@Fohu is correct. Mine had a pen head size hole on a corner when I received it. GFC suggested Gear Head Tenacious tape. Easy to apply and works as designed.
