Just placed my order for GFC V2 Pro for my 3rd Gen short bed Tacoma. I was planning to purchase a Sherpa Animas roof rack to go along with it.
I was mostly planning on getting a rack for wind noise and aerodynamics as the extra storage space isn’t critical for me. How essential is a roof rack for use with a GFC? Curious what everyone’s experience is with the following:
I plan to get the same rack as well. No experience but I can imagine it only will help with airflow which could help with noise reduction and MPG increase.
To OP, I have the Prinsu version with a 40” light bar mounted in the front wind deflector. Also have a pelican case mounted horizontally on the rack between the GFC and the deflector. Don’t get any wind noise, but probably get reduced mpg from the pelican case. Hah.
Jedgarfacation, has a bracket that fits on the V2 for the Yakima aerodynamic racks
I had the beef racks as well, but didn’t need quite as beefy as they are dynamically. They’re terrible and they make noise are great.
I have the Martin Offroad rack on my 2013 Tacoma which did eliminate a very annoying wind noise, and very nicely carries my traction boards and shovel. Works great for me, check it out. Can’t comment on MPG as I was not tracking it.
