I recently installed a tailgate shock on my 2009 Dodge Ram- what a great mod for $20.
Before when I opened the tailgate from inside the camper it would fall down with a thud as it’s hard to lower it down from within the truck.
This cheap shock allows the tailgate to fall down slowly so it doesn’t crash. Highly recommend! Here is a picture of what they look like:
