Tent Window Rods

I added some tent rods to hold my outer tent windows open.

I was concerned about tearing the tent fabric so I added some reinforcements to the corners (inside and out) that I made from orange iron-on patch fabric, then I carefully attached the patches to the tent with a heat sealing iron. I installed stainless steel grommets to make durable mounting holes for the rods.

I picked up some ARB window rods which are held into the extrusions with some simple support blocks that I 3D printed from ASA. The blocks are held into the extrusions with 10-32 GFC T-nuts.

Total cost for this project (not including shipping, sales tax, my labor, & tools I already own) was less than $60.
Window rods: $11.16
Iron-on patches: $8.99
Grommets: $7.99
GFC T-nuts: $28.43
ASA filament: ~$2.00

Pretty sweet. I hate that those ARB Window Rods are always sold out. Did you buy them directly from ARB, or elsewhere?

Nevermind, I found the same ones at Jegs…

I ordered them from trailrecon.com

How do these small 3D printed pole blocks hold up? and chance you have the file still?

Are the window rods cut to length or do they come in this size? I like this whole idea :clap:t6:
