Greetings from Central Virginia. This will be the build out and progression my new to me 2017 Tacoma I get next week, and the GFC that will be installed on her a week after that at Apex Overland in NC.
I’ve only ever seen one GFC, about two weeks ago, while I was flyfishing in NC. It belonged to a fellow flyfisherman, and it was love at first sight. Four days after first sight, I’d found a low mileage (33K 2017) Tacoma online, and traded in my 2019 Subaru Outback, Jolene, with 84K miles on her.
I’ve decided to name my Taco “Boo,” because that was the nickname I gave my wife of 24 years who passed away 18 months ago, and because my Taco is “Inferno,” which also means she looks a bit like a pumpkin.
I hope you will all follow along, and that we can eventually meet up on some long dusty road in the future. I’m really excited.
FYI, I am a photographer and was a firefighter, and after a good friend of mine was killed on the job in Hanover County VA, working with his wife and others we created the Move Over Plate for VA, and got better laws put into place for those who don’t respect flashing lights on the road. That image is from a photo I took of Brad, and will forever represent his commitment to his community.
My new plate will be this one.
Cheers,
Justin
