FYI…I was not aware of this, maybe I’m an idiot, but moving the large mid floor over the cab to open the bed will wear out the tent material. I guess the proper way, according to GFC, is to remove the cushion, slide that over the cab, then move the floor on top of that. I got my V2 Max at the end of April and only moved the floor a handful of times and it created small holes right at the strut points. Not happy, but they are sending out a patch kit to repair the material.
Just trying to share the information with everyone.
Here is the official response from GFC as this was not made known to me when I got the install:
“You’re exactly right that this needs to be part of our post install walkaround. We’ve already sent a TSB to installers outlining the issue and the prevention steps, but it has not yet been fully integrated into our install SOP. We’re getting that dialed in as quickly as we can.”
Attached are also the photos they sent as the proper way to move and store the floor (at least for the V2 Max)
This got me too, took 3 nights camping back from Bozeman on a new Max and have the same holes at the tent struts. No one mentioned it at install so just an FYI to everyone. My patch kit just arrived so taking care of it this week.
