I was searching the forum for V2 Pro tent and have not found anyone that has completed the replacement yet however I found the video of the how-to and it looks a wee bit daunting.
I am wondering if anyone has done this on their own yet? I am thinking of tackling the task and curious if anyone has tips or tricks.
Last I heard, the replacement tents won’t be shipping until Feb, but that may have changed. I have one on order and haven’t received it or any updates since I ordered it right after it dropped.
I too, ordered tent right after it dropped and have not received it. Have not heard when GFC plans to ship, but February would be nice. I did receive the ceiling carpet and light kit.
Ordered mine as part of the full v2 pro upgrade kit the day it came out. Received everting BUT the headliner and lighting kit… oh and of course the v2 pro tent, but that’s not supposed to ship till February.
Can someone link the video? I can’t find it on here or Youtube. I just received my new keder cord and am getting ready to install…but can’t seem to find the instructions now.
Man. If you have a shop near you that does the transfer, it is worth the $ it is 100% not as easy as it seems. I can’t seem to get the fabric to open up while in the track.
I’m about to tackle this once the tent fabric comes in. I’m planning on it taking all weekend and will likely be leaving my truck at the shop so I can just leave pieces everywhere instead of worrying about buttoning it up in a single day.
So now that im done, it was so easy . Jk I got hung up on the last 2 keeter rods.. it gets pretty tight at the end. I ended up having to prop the tent open about 3 or 4 inches so I can feed the tent into the rail and get the keeter in. The rest was pretty easy! It is definitely satisfying to diy it
Honestly @GFC deserves a round of applause. I’ve had my camper 3 1/2 years with close to 300 nights in it and easily 120k miles on it and the disassembly was the easiest thing in the world.
A little bit of heat and each bolt came out without a fuss. I was expecting to spend four hours just removing bolts because they would be seized up and I had everything off in about 45 minutes because I kept going back to watch the video to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
Tomorrow I attempt to remove the old tent and install the new fabric
So far so good. I had the older keeter rods that were the flexible green plastic and god damn they were a pita. I ended up having to remove one of the side blocks to get the last rod out but again the bolts came out without a fight after a little heat.
Thankful to have access to my jobs shop to do this so I can just leave it disassembled overnight and I don’t have to do it all at one time.
Can confirm the last keeter rod took as long as everything else combined. Royal pita. Ended up having to take the entire rear bar off so I could thread the rod into the tent. That one part is enough that I’d have paid a shop to install it for me but given it’s a 4 day drive to the nearest shop I’m glad I did it myself.
Honestly if GFC HQ was within a day’s drive of me I’d have had them do it. I still need to go see them about my rear panel and tent struts but at least now the tent is on!
