Water intrusion with Pro upgrade tent and V2 camper shell

Hey guys, I upgraded to the new pro tent and am getting a wet mattress, pillow and sleeping bag. It seems to be soaking through the stitches and seams. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m thinking of removing the pro tent and reinstalling my original tent unless there’s a solution. I’m also leaking lots of water through the roof of my camper into the bed of the truck. I suspect its through the forward facing hinges, are there any know fixes? When mine was installed, an installer said the forums could help me waterproof it, i checked a few times (after wet camping trips) and havent found anything yet. Mine was installed spring 22 if that plays a role. Thanks for the insight

Follow up: I found a few more posts since my last feeble search, and am hopeful they’ll help me out and hope that I dont need to make another long drive. I’ve emailed support. It would be real cool to be dry while camping.

In heavy rain the zipper on the bottom or the rear door gets wet and water seeps into my mattress.

My fix for this is to mount a siltarp on to my roof see photo. This works well for keeping the tailgate area dry whilst camping.

That sounds frustrating you’re definitely not the only one who’s had this issue. The leaking through seams and forward hinges usually points to a sealing or alignment problem. Try applying a high-quality seam sealer (like Gear Aid Seam Grip) on all stitching lines and use silicone or butyl sealant around the hinge mounts. Also check that the tent fabric isn’t pinched or uneven where it meets the frame even small gaps can wick water inside. If it still leaks, contact the installer or the manufacturer for a warranty reseal or replacement; many have updated seal kits for 2022-installed models.

Thank you. I’ve reached out to them. I’ll see if they can help, but yeah, that seems to be how it’ll shake out. I appreciate it! I’ll probably try better seals around the corners of the side panels as well

@Dales please keep this thread updated on their response and the fix.

So far… no response from them after their forecasted 5 business days maximum… so time to respond to their survey with 1 star for how it was handled. It was not (as of tonight)

Update, they got back to me, said the tent isn’t supposed to be leaking and suggested sending me another tent for me to install… i told them that I think it’s just a seam sealant issue, but will install a new tent anyway, and that others are having issue with that on the forum too, but we’ll see…

Also that doesn’t address the leaking through the camper aluminum

Update: they decided there’s something wrong with the tents and will be updating them (was i a beta tester?) They offered to send me seam sealant and then a new tent when they are available. I’m OK myself with the seam sealant if thats a permanent fix. This is nice news, but doesn’t address thr leaking coming through the shell…

They’re replacing ALL Pro tents? Or just certain ones?

They offered to replace mine because it’s leaking, then it seems like they noticed it’s a construction issue and are changing how they are made going forward, so, im no insider, but I bet they’ll only offer this to people who complain about leaking
