What’s up with hinges breaking

@GFC @Mike_GFCUSA @GFC_Eli Anyone in the shop this week? #439 developed a 6” crack on the rear panel hinge last weekend. I’ve sent a few emails to support and filled in the web form, but no response.

I’d like to find out what the hinge replacement options are for folks in Canada. Thanks.

@Hardcharger sorry for the late response! We were short staffed last week and have been playing catch up on emails. I will send you an email now, so that we can connect on the phone.

Just wanted to follow up and mention I was fortunate enough to get into PIT when GFC was recently in Bend. While it was still a bit inconvenient to travel to Bend from PDX, I am absolutely stoked on the new hinges. I greatly appreciate GFC acknowledging the failed design and putting into place a solution via PIT to make it right to their customers. I do think that GFC has an opportunity to improve on their customer service in terms of communicating and coordinating a temporary solution for failed hinges until PIT rolls by. With that said, their new hinge design is stellar and I have no reservations that they will stand up to the test of time. Thank you GFC for making it right despite the inconvenience!

Welp, 6 weeks after I first posted this note about the hinge cracking on one side I had a total failure this morning. Sucks. Was literally going to pack the truck to get out for a weekend of camping. Popped the left lock and the door exploded on me.

Talked to @GFC 6 weeks ago and they said they’d send me some of their “trip saver kits”… well that never happened, I’m going to be scrambling today to find a solution.

Well, I guess it was going to happen sooner or later. Rear door started popping when I was opening it and completely broke off.
