Very cool pictures on this thread, what kind of drone do you use for them?
Great pics! Makes me want to get out in the desert asap!
we have a dji mavic pro. i crashed it pretty good into some rocks 80ft up so its a bit battered but serves us well for sure
now is the perfect time -
installed a josh edgar step up
and replaced a gfc rear latch which went missing on last trip and we had to use zip ties to keep tent closed

@d.shaw – How is the Weboost mounted with the antenna? Have you had any issue’s with the Weboost there?
@racerzach1 we have them mounted to a relentless antenna mount on the 2nd gen and a victory mount on the third gen

it works ok here, we need it when we are driving and in camp and we can move it outside the vehicle like this. we are setting up an extra antenna to mount to the top of the wedge when in camp (and we need some more range)
@racerzach1there is a bit of info about how i installed them here: post #118
@d.shaw-- The rang is not great? Trying to find the best option to allow me to fully work remote for about two-weeks from the truck.
@racerzach1well it requires having some signal to boost. we have both ATT and verizon so usually able to have one or the other get service. they will boost 1 bar to 4 usually - having them so short off the front isn’t optimal for sure, but i didnt like how much it moved when i was driving when it was longer, so having an extra antenna to put up in camp (we need to use whilst driving and stopped) will be beneficial. we are using @ervandew setup (a few posts into this thread) for a top of the wedge mount. depending on your needs, extra antenna’s are only like $100
For Weboost, the higher the antenna is, the better it will perform. Something like this bracket from Rhino-Rack allows the antenna to be folded down when not needed. Can be either mounted to a beef bar or to the extrusion with 90 degree bracket.
@cvollers yeah I started on a method to place it on the wedge so it could be hoisted high (and have another antenna) right around the same time my wife’s work went from “need to be available all the time” to “turn off all work devices and lets go camp” - so this went totally stagnant for us…she still use the low one on her truck when driving around and on meetings thou, works good thanks for the info those those brackets are super nice
New Holland Overland has a nice rotating mount for the antenna.
Wow what a great spot!
