I’m looking to make a crate-like dog retainer for the back of the go fast that could maybe double as molle panels to hang things from while creating adequate ventilation for the dogs.
I saw what I think is pretty much the perfect solution on an old GFC instagram post
But unfortunately GFC said Toyota custom made this for the tundra in the photo and they don’t sell them. My girlfriend’s dog is reactive and so I want something that will contain the dog if we go on a bike ride or something for a couple hours while providing adequate ventilation etc…
Basically I am thinking I would put this up on one side of the camper and then just pop the door open, and I think that should vent quite well most of the time. I live in MT and for the majority of the time I think this solution would be perfect except for like exceptionally hot days when I wouldn’t leave the dogs back there anyway.
Does anyone have any ideas on where to go to get something like this made and how to mount it? I would say that I am not a particularly handy guy but definitely willing to give this a shot home made if there aren’t any companies that would make something like this. Also not sure how to mount it to the camper.
I saw this post that was a version of this but I don’t think it would be secure enough to keep the dog in with just bungees.
I was thinking maybe the new freedom coast rails could maybe help if I put those in and then somehow bolted some kind of crate like wire thing onto them?
Thanks!
