I was thinking about the same. Probably won’t though. Hell I don’t know.

I just told my wife today maybe we should try orange. I like to lay low, but the dang orange keeps drawing me in.

That was my reasoning, too. But as it turns out, everywhere I camp, it’s really obvious that I’m camping, so it’s not a big help that way. When I sleep stealth, it’s with the tent closed - and that works well enough.

Also for me in SoCal, even when closed, the GFC is a people magnet, and to be honest I kinda love demoing it to people and showing people how it works. Nothing stealth about that, either.

So in the end, I’m going to try an orange tent in person again soon and make up my mind.

That orange do be looking sweet in everyone’s photos, I just wonder about light leaking through. I do like to sleep in occasionally.

No upgraded latches…bummer.

Love my orange

I’ve never understood the stealth reasoning. Like I’m either out in blm with no around or I’m in a campground. The tent sticks up so high in the air I think it sticks out regardless of color! I love the orange.

I have been emailing with GFC about the v2 pro tent upgrade, but haven’t gotten a straight answer:

If we go ahead and buy the tent upgrade we have the choice of it shipping to us as a DIY kit or having it installed at one of the shops.

With the DIY upgrade my biggest concern is getting the 3M 4411B Extreme Sealing Tape off around the edges of the roof, does anyone have any experience with this and/or heard from GFC about the best way to do this?

I had the same question, GFC rep said it’s easy to just scrap it off. Didn’t know if the upgrade came with more tape. The installation video doesn’t include removing the tape.

Heh, I asked for the part number of this tape and didn’t get it (no harm no foul). So instead I called a rep at a 3M converter, described it, got the part number, then bought a roll on eBay. ezpz

It’s hella expensive and not available in small quantities. If it must be removed it to replace the tent, it should probably come with the kit. Been a minute since I saw a tent replacement video, does the roof really need to be removed?

I think the install video showed removing the roof to install the new tent, but yes as stated before by Pete, the install video posted on their site is older before they implemented the tape around the edge.

Can you post a picture of where the tape is that you’re referring to?

Weird, I’m not sure why that tape would need to be removed to swap the tent material. The tent slides into the c channel on the bottom portion of the aluminum frame, I can’t see how removing the honeycomb panel would have anything to do with that.

Maybe I’m wrong. I don’t have my camper anymore to look. But seems like you only pull off the end caps.

The roof panel will need to come off and tape reapplied afterwards.

We’ll have more information about procedures and solutions around this as we get closer. I’d hold off on ordering anything or worrying too much. Goal is to make it as easy on everyone involved as possible.

Anyone hear an update about V2 pro tent shipping dates or scheduling dates to have the swap done?
