Day 10 - Tyee Campground in Southern Oregon.
Campground is extremely shaded and heavily forested.
Starlink shows obstructed every 7 minutes.
CG is strictly reservation only.
My original plan was to hit up Leslie Gulch and stay at Slocum CG by the river, but when I checked the weather report it showed high 80s as night time low so… this is much better and temperature a lot more comfortable.
Is there anyway I can buy y’all a beer for a conversation about the route? If you make it back to Alaska I can share my waypoints as trade
The trans Labrador is on my bucket list.
Definitely! I’ll shoot you a message!
Night #52
BLM camping south of Carlsbad, NM.
The location is really setup for an excellent evening view.
Stayed another night in the same spot as high above the Trans-Quebec-Labrador Highway as we could get. Enjoyed picking lots of blueberries and raspberries
moved a little further south, very clear now we are out of the subarctic climates that we had been in for so long. About 100km remaining till the end of the route.
We were pretty stoked about the spot we found. Seemed to be about in the middle. Great views but could see other rigs for sure. Had the same experience that there wasn’t much to choose from.
Are you heading up to KOAR mid-September? I’m jealous if so! I’m over in Manistee if you ever want to camp!
I’ll be up at High Rock Bay 11th-12th, but making my way back down to metro Detroit that weekend unfortunately. 12th - Tahquamenon Falls, 13th - Leelenau, 14th - Young. Would love to make a trip happen if you’re in Manistee and don’t mind 3 dogs running around camp causing havoc
My dog’s name IS Havik. They’d fit right in.
What’s that roof rack? -thanks-
Nights 12 and 13
Put it in “bunk mode” while it was raining to give the kiddo a place to read while we packed up on the last day.
Last night along the Trans-Quebec-Labrador Highway.
In total we drove over 1400 miles over 14 days between spurs off the road and taking occasional detours. I still feel like there was some stuff that we could have spent more time doing, and more communities that we could have driven or ferried to that I would have liked to visit. Oh well, next time I suppose. This is definitely a route I would like to do again.
somewhere near Forestville, QC
