Night 171, Near Virginia City, MT. We have been away from the truck for a bit of non-vehicle-based travel, but now that the new V2 Max has dropped, I can share these photos. Graeme has been picking our brains for thoughts on the camper for a while and had asked us to test out the Max, so we spent two nights in it alongside Dolores.

Night 172, Gravely Range, MT. Initial thoughts are really good on the new camper! Pretty stoked on the addition of the pass-through possibilities. Also, driving a Raptor for several days was too damn fun! The size comparison between the two vehicles is comical.

@Mcnazzle it’s a Wilco High Clearance swingout with a Front Runner folding table and I replaced the wood cutting board with a plastic one from Rigd. It also has a Rotopax 2 gallon jug.

Had to camp in the topper since I didn’t bring the Superlite. I didn’t plan on camping due to projected high temps but they ended up mellowing out later in the week. Currently doing desert tortoise work north of Barstow.

Night 6: Barstow, CA.

Night 13, same place:

@kevine001 and I camped and worked in Big Bear from Wed through Sun. Got some archery hunting in but no bucks seen. Starlink made it east to work remotely except I was surprised by the amount of power it uses. I also got caught out by my RockPals 500 deciding the AC section did not want to work. I guess there’s a reason they went out of business.

Night 12 - 15

Camping is getting weird in moab, what used to be remote, free, and wild is all now paid, reserved and covered in RVs and 5th wheels with generators…

Still worth going.

Still worth the views:

And if you move a little farther out, you can find it quieter…

Which makes the natives more restful…
