Starlink Mini mount and power

Ok. Thanks.

Something to think about. Apparently starlinks don’t have any issue getting signal through non-metalic surfaces. I’ve read in other threads that people have placed their Mini under their mattress or on the underside of their roof with no signal loss. Basically you don’t need to mount it to the outside of the truck.

From a safety perspective I have mine mounted outside with the pole mount snap in adapter and pole mount adapter into that with screw to hold it in.
No problems whatsoever with the Ram mount setup on the highway. No problems doing 50-60 on washboard. However, pretty sure a low hanging branch would remove it.

I did have it lying next to me a couple nights inside the sleeping area and it also worked fine. It does make noise though, kinda irritating. And started wondering if I should sleep with it 2 feet from my head all night. I just leave it mounted outside now when I’m traveling.

Are you talking about the pole mount from Starlink?

I do not have the full pole mount from Starlink. With the Mini comes a small adapter that the pole mount slides into. I purchased a 1.5" Ram Ball setup from Amazon that connects to that. My setup looks exactly like the first poster of this thread; pictures are at the beginning if you scroll up. I hope that clarifies my setup.
First item is the Ram Ball kit that includes a piece that slides into the Starlink Adapter.

Second item has screws that fit in the Gofast track so I bought that because I didn’t have anymore GFC T-Nuts.

Great. Thank you for all the info and response.

refer to my pictures above using Trio Flat Mount with magnetic feet.

Thing stays on the roof and didn’t even move a nanometer while going down highway doing 90mph, and did not move at all while going down bumpy trails doing 70 mph.

if your cab roof is metal (not aluminum) then that mount will be plenty fine for you.

Unfortunately, I have a GFC Max on a Ford Ranger, so there is no where to mount the Starlink, unless it would still work under the tent overhang. Which it might, because my Sirius/XM antenna still works?

the max covers the entire cab roof?!

pretty much

oh snap hahaha

Howdy! You can use adhesive ferromagnetic plates like these to mount most magnetic starlink mounts to surfaces like the camper roof that aren’t magnetic themselves!

John, I’ll consider this, but I really don’t want the Starlink mounted to the top of the tent in that fashion.

Just ordered this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1551292657/gfc-mini-starlink-mount-kit?ref=yr_purchases

That’s what I have
