The Random GFC Photo Thread

Thanks for the response Mattyd

I am a big fan of the 1up rack. I had it before I got the 2016 Tacoma and the GFC. The pelfreybilt bumper came on the Tacoma when I got it in September 2020. I could not lower my tailgate without taking the 1up rack off. I was using a drop hitch to fix that problem https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Roadmaster/RO24FR.html but recently I got a new hitch like this: https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Roadmaster/RO24FR.html with the new draw-tite installed my tailgate (and backup camera) clear the 1up if positioned correctly. However at this point I have not been able to find a way to attach the rear of the hitch to the bumper so there is a plate with two open bolt holes just hanging out there. I am not pulling anything big at this point only using it for bike rack and wouldn’t trust it with much more than a light raft trailer. I attached some dealer tag magnets to my license plate and with both of them on there the plate has not come off even on super bumpy off road. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XZD2BRO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Also I got some plastic coated cable, cable clamps, and a drawer knob from the home store and made a pull string on the 1up that I highly recommend, especially when you put a 3rd tray on like I have.

One more question if you don’t mind

Just ordered all of the 8020 parts for the rack and some 1/4-20 nuts from gzilla. Ordering a solar panel now with the z brackets and wondering what you used to bolt onto the 8020 side of the z bracket? maybe this https://8020.net/3382.html with these? https://8020.net/3064.html

or this even https://www.grainger.com/product/80-20-Fasteners-29PA22

Yes the one from grainger would work better for the bracket in the middle at the rear of the solar panels. The roof bows up slightly in that area but I still have the original 3" matress setup. It may not be an issue with the 2" mattress setup.

Excellent, just ordered the grainger ones. I will have the 2 inch mattress but I’m adding an inch of foam so good to know it will bow out.

Thanks again, much appreciated. Now to hope everything fits together when I get out to Montana

My current setup with the VRNCLR Storage spaceframe bag and Top Shelf. Love them! Hope to build a passenger side drawer one day to condense the Front Runner Boxes. If you have any recommendations (not Goose Gear) or advice for building a drawer system let me know

I love it. I want the specs lol. I’m already set on the lil b bumper. Going with 3’ lift and 285/75/17. Still somewhat undecided on suspension but I’m narrowing it down. What I want to know is how is the high clearance rear with the 5’ bed and the GFC? I’m kind of hating the 5’ bed at the moment but I’m hoping the GFC will remedy some of that.

I’ve built 4 different drawer/platform setups in the back of friends’ rigs and I’m really taking my time on mine. I’m thinking basic bench on one side (obviously passenger side for the lean) with a drawer inside. Nothing on the other side as I want the standing room and storage space. Also not sure the 33"/34" tire will fit in the spare slot. I’d be down to brainstorm with ya though. I dig homemade bed setups and there doesn’t seem to be many resources for GFC bed setups out there.

Lol what is the fuel economy on the Taco? Probably worse than my Raptor

Sweet rig man!

Depends on whether or not he’s re-geared. No re-gear, he’s gotta be down around 12-15 mph

:call_me_hand::call_me_hand:

Thats officially Tundra territory!!! haha.

Im regeared. 220 miles to ~17 gallons is about 13? And thats with no gfc haha. But thats guessing on the miles based on my tire size.

I also don’t worry about mpg… because I bought a truck

Thanks man! I’m on about a 2.5" lift 315/70/17. The Lil B’s bumper is rad for sure. Are you talking about ground clearance or height clearance? I’m also doing a passenger side drawer to offset the weight as well. We just started last night. Pretty pumped. I’ve seen guys modify the underside to fit a deflated 35" tire underneath but its some work. I believe w/o modification you might be able to squeeze a 33" underneath depending on if its a MT or an AT tire.

Bad. Really bad. She’s a pig, even with OV Tune and Re-gear. Lucky to get 11.5

Sorry I was talking about the high clearance rear bumper with the GFC. I can see where the swingout would be nice but I’m on the fence. I was thinking weight might be a bit too much without going to a full leaf kit. Pretty set on an Icon RXT kit or stage 2/3 deaver leaves.

Weight will be too much with the RXT leaf pack. Ask me how I know.

You said ask, so how do you know?

So with my current setup (GFC, gear, camp supplies, propane, spare 35, HC rear w swing out) the Deaver stage III’s are perfect. That’s what I’m running and I wouldn’t think twice about having to do it again.
