That’s the route I was thinking of going. Or as i mentioned, RXT on stage 3. If I went Stage 3 Deaver, I then need to figure out rear shocks. That’s certainly the “convenience factor” with the Icon RXT stage 3…
I just wish someone had done it before me and reported it on some forum somewhere so I could have saved the beat up hands, time, and money. Not the beers though, those have been worth it.
Stage 3 RXT ≠ stage 3 Deaver’s.
deaver stage III (unless you have or are planning a big buildout in the back then deaver custom) with BAMF HD shackle hangers
** Archive Shackle hangers, paired with a shock relocate and 12-14" smoothies
These will be my next setup. My Dakar HD + AAL are flat/W shaped already. I think its been at least 2 years?
Do you have a drawer setup? I’m wondering if people that have stage III have more than just the weight of the GFC full time? I have stage II but run an empty bed most of the time as its my dd and I like it. I have had a few trips where I really load the truck down and think to myself should I have stiffer leafs.
i actually have a vagabond drifter on mine, our GFC is on my girls truck. i have no build out - here is a recent cat scale in daily driver mode, full of fuel and me (i have all my recovery gear in the back and tools)

@OhaiJonny Question, I’m thinking about doing the OVtune, did you have it done before or after all the added mass. Did you get enough of a gain either way to justify the expense?
Had it done to my truck yesterday and it’s a night and day difference. Throttle response is a lot better. There is no more hesitation and the chasing of gears is gone. If you’re thinking about doing it spend the money and do it. I’m sure you can find somebody in your local area to give you a tune. They run between $200 and $300 for the basic tune.
What is this OVtune you talk of? I like the sounds of it if it something fairly easy to have done. Do you drive a 3rd gen or is it effective for any model?
It’s only for the 3rd Gen Tacoma’s and it takes 10mins.
Nice! I’ll post some GFC pics from the Maze too in a couple weeks.
I fit a 285/75/16 I the stock location before you HCbumper. With my bumper I got it down there by flattening the positioning tabs so I imagine a 34 may fit within some persuasion. Oh I also chopped the exhaust just passed the axel.
Trying to find someone in SW Montana…can’t find anyone around here! Anybody know of anyone in Billings, Missoula, or Butte? Heck…maybe even Salt Lake…I have been tracking this tune for awhile, thx!
