Moved out to Colorado and swapped the camper from my 3rd Gen to a 2nd Gen. First weekend out exploring the local trails.

I’m counting the days until we head up to Montana for our install on the 29th. Until then I just get out for short drives near home.

Thanks! The biggest concept I’m trying to maintain with my build is that everything is independent. The canopy can be used for river or beach trips as well as on the back of the truck. I have the 200 sq ft one because I got it on sale but if I were to do it again I would probably go with the 120. The biggest problem I can foresee is being SOL if I set up in a parking lot, but I try to avoid parking lots anyway.

I didn’t get pictures of it, but I put carabiners in two of the loops on the canopy and clipped them to the bottom eyes of the latches on the camper (v1). The spacing ended up perfect, which was nice. The next time I set it up, I’ll take some pictures.
I apologize if you’ve answered this elsewhere. I was wondering what solar panels you’re running?
How do you like the black tent? I was thinking of upgrading my tent to the two door and full zipper version. Does it get too hot? Any complaints?

I like that concept too. So many good camping spots are a short ways away from where you can park the truck it is nice to have a flexible setup.

No problems with the black tent here. I’ve had it on some hot days in the desert, but not over a full summer yet. From what I’ve seen, I’m not concerned especially with the 3 windows.

Which length is your Sherpa rack? I have the full length one currently but I know it won’t fit when I get my camper
